Be the Flow, My New Year’s Intention

This year I resolve only to embody water and find my flow,
To be the flow.
Sometimes I will drip slowly,
Other times I will crash forcefully.
Sometimes I will fall,
Before forging a new path through the landscape I find myself in.

Be the flow.
Gentle yet powerful.

I am not drowning nor swimming in the water,
I am water.
Water flows,
A steady and continuous stream of movement.
Ebbing, tide in, tide out,
Ups and downs, peaks and troughs, flowing.

Be the flow.
Progress not perfection (there is no such thing).

As rocks, trolleys and unforeseen circumstances surface,
I will not stagnate nor give up.
As water flows, it finds a way,
Percolating, rippling, turning, tumbling.
I close my eyes, embody water,
Become the flow.
I am present, acknowledge each stepping stone,
Each change, challenge, connection and opportunity.
What would water do?
Then, I flow.

Be the flow.
Process and systems over goals.

I am calm, I am water,
Nothing less, nothing more.
What happens, happens,
And what flows, flows.
But to be clear - I am not passive,
I am present and intentional.
I am evolving, forever in motion,
I am dancing.
Tide in, tide out.
Of course, not all at once,
That would be overwhelming.
From drip to wave,
Waterfall to river,
I am water,
And I flow.
